Sr. Director, Security Operations

Job Description

Fortra is seeking a Senior Director of Security Operations to lead their Digital Risk Security Operations Center (SOC). The ideal candidate will possess a strong cybersecurity background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of overseeing security operations, scaling security effectiveness, and customer engagement. This role is crucial in ensuring the protection of customers against cyber threats.Responsibilities include leading and mentoring a team of security analysts, collaborating with R&D, ensuring full-value delivery to customers, leveraging automation, monitoring KPIs, coordinating schedules, overseeing incident detection, building visualizations, engaging in managed security services delivery, establishing strong customer relationships, leading incident response efforts, and staying current with emerging cyber threats.

• Lead and mentor a team of Managers, security analysts, Leads and SMEs
• Collaborate with R&D to continually drive to better automated security outcomes
• Collaborate with CSMs and AMs to ensure full-value delivery and communication for all customers
• Leverage automation to ensure optimal gross margins
• Continuously evaluate and mature a strong set of KPIs and control plans
• Partner with SOC Leads to Coordinate schedules, assignments, and tasks
• Accountable for the daily operations of the SOC
• Build visualizations for and monitor SOC metrics/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Be deeply engaged in the delivery of managed security services to customers
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers
• Lead and support incident response efforts
• Stay current with emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate security processes
• Implement best practices, workflows, and procedures

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, with relevant certifications being a plus. The candidate should have 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a proven track record of managing security operations and delivering managed security services, including at least 5 years in a senior management or Director role. Strong knowledge of security technologies and tools, excellent leadership and communication skills, familiarity with compliance frameworks, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are also required.
