Senior Software Engineer - Wallet Core

Job Description

BitGo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Wallet Core Team in Toronto. The successful candidate will help build an API-first platform for businesses and developers to launch crypto products. This role requires full-time onsite presence to foster team collaboration and innovative problem-solving.BitGo is a leading infrastructure provider of digital asset solutions, offering custody, wallets, staking, trading, financing, and settlement services. It serves thousands of institutions globally and handles a significant portion of Bitcoin network transactions.Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable APIs, libraries, and services.
• Own functionality and scalability features from inception to deployment.
• Expose and document functionality for UI, third-party developers, and internal tooling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and ship new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Work with product managers, designers, and other engineers to refine product requirements.
• Provide mentorship to peers through code reviews and education.

Requirements:

• At least 6 years of back-end and server-side development experience.
• Strong algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis skills.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Strong development experience with JVM languages (Kotlin or Java preferred).
• Strong experience with RESTful API design.
• Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with unit and functional testing and debugging.
• Experience in Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI tools.
• Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field.
• Understanding of and interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
