Intercom is seeking a Group Design Manager to lead a high-performing design team focused on building the future of AI Customer Support. This role is based in Dublin, Ireland. The Group Design Manager will be responsible for raising the bar on design craft, building high-performing teams, and driving execution excellence across strategic product areas. Intercom is at the forefront of shaping the AI Agent category and redefining customer service with Fin. Design is in Intercom's DNA, with a large design team and two co-founders from design backgrounds.

Role Involves:
  • Leading, coaching, and inspiring a team of designers.
  • Partnering with product and engineering leadership to align strategy and drive decisions.
  • Setting and upholding a high bar for design craft.
  • Solving problems from first principles.
  • Building a healthy, high-trust team culture.
  • Staying hands-on in the work, reviewing designs and driving clarity.

Requirements:
  • Experience leading and growing high-performing design teams.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and developing designers at all levels.
  • Experience owning execution across a portfolio of product areas.
  • Experience partnering with Product and Engineering leadership.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
  • A track record of shipping great software.
  • Strong visual sensibility and high standards for craft.
  • Demonstrated product taste.
