ABBYY is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Instructional Designer to join their team in Budapest, Hungary. This role involves developing and supporting high-quality training resources for ABBYY products. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging educational materials and maintain learning environments.

Responsibilities:
- Develop instructor-led training materials, technical documentation, and user tutorials in English.
- Design and support eLearning modules and resources for ABBYY products and internal projects using modern authoring tools.
- Maintain and support all learning and training environments, including virtual machines, Learning Management Systems (LMSs), Azure services, ABBYY University Help Center, ABBYY University Community, and the Education Services Wiki.
- Upload, organize, and update course modules and SCORM packages from Articulate, ensuring content remains current with product changes and version updates.
- Assist in designing structured learning paths and certifications by organizing courses into progressive sequences and applying prerequisites or branching logic where appropriate.
- Play a key role in transitioning both new and existing training content into concise, focused microlearning units.
- Collaborate on aligning these modular components with broader learning paths to reinforce long-term learning goals.
- Track learner progress and completions, generate reports for stakeholders, troubleshoot issues related to course start/completion status, time spent, and module progress, and help identify content gaps through data analysis.
- Collaborate with business owners, stakeholders, and technical experts to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment of all training materials.
- Monitor the effectiveness of training initiatives; gather feedback, analyze performance metrics, and implement improvements.
- Deliver product trainings, technical enablement sessions, and webinars in English, as needed.
- Utilize large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT or similar tools, to assist in drafting learning materials, maintaining consistent tone and style, and optimizing content for target reading levels.
Requirements:
- MS Office Suite (advanced PowerPoint skills required)
- TechSmith Camtasia or equivalent video editing tools
- Articulate Rise, Storyline, and Audiate
- VMWare or comparable virtual machine platforms
- MS Teams for communication and collaboration
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud tools for visual and multimedia content creation
- Experience with collaborative platforms such as Miro, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and SharePoint for developing, managing, and maintaining shared instructional resources
- Familiarity with ABBYY products is a strong plus: Vantage, Vantage Advanced Designer Timeline FlexiCapture, FlexiLayout Studio FineReader Engine, FineReader Desktop, FineReader Server
- Proficient in leveraging large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot, as tools for drafting and refining educational content with consistency and clarity
- Strong grasp of instructional design principles and the ability to apply them in real-world scenarios
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures, with regular check-ins (typically every 1–2 weeks)
- Comfortable operating within defined methods in standard situations, with the judgment to seek guidance when handling novel or complex issues
