Charles River Associates (CRA) is seeking an intern to join their European Competition practice in Munich, Germany. This paid internship mirrors the full-time analyst role and typically lasts three to six months, with flexible start dates.CRA's European Competition practice provides economic advice on competition policy and regulation, assisting firms and legal advisors in various competition proceedings. The intern will work closely with senior staff on projects across diverse industries, gaining valuable experience as an economist at CRA.Responsibilities include:
  • Identifying potential issues and conducting analyses to illustrate economic arguments.
  • Assembling compelling evidence from data and research to support expert opinions.
  • Programming, building models, and performing regression analyses in statistical analysis programs (Stata, Python, R).
  • Assisting in the development and presentation of client deliverables.
  • Communicating complicated economic concepts to internal teams.
  • Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinions.
Requirements:
  • Master's or PhD/DPhil level student in economics.
  • Strong foundation in microeconomics, preferably with a specialization in industrial economics and/or econometrics.
  • German language fluency essential.
  • High degree of numeracy and comfort with data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with econometric techniques desirable.
  • Relevant research experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and leadership.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
  • Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Clear interest in consulting.
