Job Description
Charles River Associates is seeking a Senior Associate to join their European Competition practice in Brussels. This role offers the opportunity to work on significant competition cases in Europe, contributing to shaping the outcomes. The Senior Associate will assist Vice Presidents and senior staff by providing conceptual and practical input to competition case work.Role involves:
  • Identifying and conceptualising issues.
  • Specifying rigorous economic models to analyse market issues and data.
  • Undertaking statistical and econometric estimation.
  • Managing the work of research associate staff and colleagues.
  • Assisting in the development and presentation of client deliverables.
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for lawyers and other industry or government clients.
  • Programming, building models and/or performing regression analyses in statistical analysis programs.
  • Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinions.
  • Contributing to practice-building activities.
Requirements:
  • PhD/DPhil in economics or MSc/MPhil with strong academic achievement.
  • Up to 3 years (PhD) or 5-7 years (MSc) of professional work experience in consulting, business, or with a competition authority.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Demonstrated understanding of economic concepts, competition policy, and quantitative analysis methods.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
  • Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills.
