Job Description
Charles River Associates (CRA) is seeking a Power and Natural Gas Modeling and Markets Expert to join their Energy practice. CRA is a premier consulting firm that provides strategic, economic, and regulatory advice on issues covering the energy ecosystem and the underlying energy transition internationally. The ideal candidate will have prior experience and knowledge of power and gas market modeling and analysis. This role involves a hybrid working environment and can be located in either Boston or Washington, DC.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as a principal custodian of some of the Energy practice’s power and natural gas market models.
- Performing a broad range of quantitative consulting tasks.
- Managing and contributing to engagements.
- Supporting the development of industry leading models.
- Developing presentations and reports.
- Presenting to senior- and mid-level staff of clients.
- Overseeing junior staff in the production of reports, presentations, and market analyses.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in operations research, economics, computer science, finance, or engineering, Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum two years of professional experience in power and/or natural gas market modeling using tools like AURORAxmp, PLEXOS, PROMOD, and Encompass.
- Previous project and client management experience required.
- Strong interest in and knowledge of power and natural gas market modeling.
- Excellent presentation skills and writing ability.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness.
- Working well in a team environment, and willingness to provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff members.
