Job Description

Charles River Associates is seeking a Principal/Transmission Strategy and Planning Expert to join their Energy practice. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader in market analysis and transmission planning, providing technical expertise to project teams and leading engagements for utility clients. This role involves serving as a key expert in public stakeholder forums and senior management meetings, maintaining strong client relationships, and identifying new opportunities for clients across markets and transmission space. The Principal will oversee the client engagement process from sourcing to final project delivery, delivering presentations and reports to share findings with clients.Role involves:

• Market analysis and transmission planning
• Providing technical expertise to project teams

• Delivering presentations and reports

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Economics, Engineering Management, or related fields; Master's preferred
• 10+ years of professional experience in transmission market analysis
• 5+ years of professional experience managing or leading the work of others
• Experience supporting public stakeholder meetings and company executive meetings
• Extensive experience managing project teams and clients
• Demonstrated success in selling client engagements and maintaining these relationships
• Experience developing, working with, and interpreting output from complex market and grid planning models
• Excellent presentation skills and writing ability
• Strong problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness
• Ability to work well in a team environment and willingness to mentor junior staff
