Charles River Associates (CRA) is seeking a Principal/Utility Regulation and Finance expert to join their Energy Practice. The ideal candidate will advise clients in the regulated energy space, providing expertise in areas such as utility revenue requirements, cost of capital, and rate design. This role involves project management, alternative regulation strategies, and transactions involving regulated utilities.CRA values candidates with experience in consulting roles or in-house with utility companies, banks, developers, and regulatory agencies. The Principal will lead critical technical aspects of projects and support practice growth through business development.
Role Involves: - Advising clients on regulatory issues in the energy sector.
- Managing projects related to utility rate cases and regulatory proceedings.
- Developing strategies for alternative regulation and performance-based regulation.
- Providing expertise on utility transactions and strategic advisory services.
- Leading technical aspects of projects.
- Supporting business development efforts.
Requirements: - More than 10 years of utility industry/consulting experience.
- Proven team leadership skills.
- Subject matter expertise in utility regulation and finance.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant financial/economics/business discipline (master’s strongly desired).
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with ratemaking proceedings and docketed matters.
