Senior Platform Engineer (Backend-Focused)

Job Description

Via is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer (Backend-Focused) to join their R&D center in Tel Aviv. The candidate will contribute to the scalability, reliability, and production quality of Via’s infrastructure and software. He will develop cloud-based tools that empower Via's dispatch operators and drivers to manage real-time shared rides at a massive scale seamlessly.

What this role involves:

• Designing and developing scalable, reliable, and efficient systems.
• Establishing infrastructure standards for dev teams at Via, with a focus on observability.
• Designing, implementing, and developing centralized infrastructure and data pipelines.
• Developing infrastructure libraries that power hundreds of Via’s microservices.
• Creating and maintaining self-service tools through a service lifecycle.
• Developing a comprehensive understanding of Via’s applications and architecture.
• Collaborating actively as a team player.
• Bringing forward innovative ideas and driving scalability efforts.

Requirements:

• BSc. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related Software Engineering field.
• 4+ years of experience in backend / full stack development using an object-oriented programming language.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud-based deployments (Preferably AWS maintaining Infrastructure as Code).
• 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Experience managing the full lifecycle of microservices in large-scale production environments.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
