Job Description
Via is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to contribute to a new product focused on assisting transit agencies in delivering efficient services. The Senior Backend Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable backend systems, ensuring seamless integration with Via's existing platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a greenfield project while leveraging an established platform's resources.
What this role involves:
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems.
- Owning backend features end-to-end, from architecture to maintenance.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.
- Driving technical discussions and making architectural decisions.
- Debugging and resolving backend issues to ensure system uptime.
- Researching and implementing tools to improve backend reliability.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in backend systems design and building.
- Expertise in developing and maintaining APIs and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure tools.
- Proficiency in system design, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
