Job Description
Via is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to contribute to a new product aimed at helping transit agencies improve their service. The engineer will work on all layers of the product, from designing user interfaces to building backend systems, ensuring seamless integration with Via’s existing platform. This role offers the chance to work on a greenfield project while leveraging an established platform's resources.

Role involves:
  • Designing, building, and maintaining reliable systems for a new product.
  • Owning features end-to-end, from design to production.
  • Collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers.
  • Working across the stack to create seamless user experiences.
  • Driving technical discussions and contributing to architectural decisions.
  • Debugging and resolving issues to ensure uptime and performance.
  • Exploring new technologies and improving tools and processes.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience building and maintaining production web applications.
  • Skilled in developing user-focused interfaces and scalable backend systems.
  • Proficient in modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) and backend technologies (e.g., Python, Node.js).
  • Familiar with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment/monitoring tools.
  • Strong problem solver and collaborator with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
