Job Description
Via is seeking a Werkstudent, Recht to support its in-house counsel team in Berlin. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various legal matters, with a focus on data privacy and compliance, within a globally operating company. The successful candidate will work closely with a dedicated team of lawyers in Europe, Israel, and New York, contributing to the company's growth in Europe and the launch of new projects. A fully qualified German in-house counsel will provide supervision, offering insights into the tasks of an in-house lawyer in a high-growth scale-up environment.
What this role involves:
- Assisting with managing key regulatory and compliance matters, particularly related to GDPR and other privacy laws.
- Supporting Via’s internal compliance and corporate governance efforts.
- Reviewing and coordinating the completion of contracts, such as NDAs, SaaS agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Maintaining and organizing contract databases and templates.
- Developing and implementing ways to improve the efficiency of the legal team through ticketing systems and document management.
- Assisting with the development of legal processes to enhance scalability and efficiency.
- Providing administrative support and assisting with special projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Currently studying law at a German University.
- Strong interest or background in data protection, privacy law, or IT law.
- Analytical mindset and solid critical thinking skills.
- Meticulous and detail-oriented approach.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Positive can-do attitude and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Fluency in both German and English.
