Staff Data Engineer, Engineering Foundation

Job Description

CookUnity is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join their Engineering Foundation team. This individual will play a crucial role in defining the future of CookUnity’s data engineering architecture. They will be responsible for designing and building new data pipelines and systems that will form the base of the B2C data engineering stack, while also establishing best practices for the entire data engineering organization.Role involves:

• Designing and building resilient batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Designing and building data pipelines for migrating data models and sources.
• Championing data reliability and performance.
• Optimizing data models for efficient decision-making.
• Partnering with product, engineering, and data science teams.
• Shaping the future of data engineering at scale.
• Coaching and leveling up teammates.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
• Expertise in data processing technologies and SQL.
• Experience in designing, building, and operating distributed data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Spark, Flink, Kafka).
• Experience building, productionalizing, and optimizing real-time and batch data pipelines.
