Staff Backend Engineer - Grafana App Platform (Remote, EMEA)

Job Description

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join their Grafana App Platform team. This is a remote position for candidates in the United Kingdom. The engineer will play a crucial role in refactoring Grafana's core architecture to be multi-tenant and scalable, transforming it into an observability app platform.

The Staff Backend Engineer will be responsible for operating the software they build, addressing distributed systems problems, and ensuring seamless integration of OSS and proprietary apps. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor team members, and participate in on-call rotations to maintain system reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Coding new features and enhancing the operational experience of systems.
• Authoring and reviewing design documents.
• Shaping the roadmap and mentoring team members.
• Collaborating with different teams across the organization.
• Participating in on-call rotations.

Requirements:

• Strong coding skills and operational experience.
• Experience with SaaS platforms and distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work across teams and handle ambiguity.
• Familiarity with Golang or willingness to learn.
