Job Description

Glean is seeking a creative and skilled Frontend Software Engineer to contribute to their mission of making knowledge work faster and more humane. The Software Engineer will be responsible for launching user-facing features within a modern React and TypeScript codebase. This role involves collaborating with product designers to balance constraints with requirements, delivering best-in-class user interfaces, and creating frontend infrastructure to support rapid experimentation and development.

The Software Engineer will work on a system of intelligence for every company in the world. On the surface, you can think of it as Google + ChatGPT for the enterprise. Under the hood, our platform is the connective tissue between AI and knowledge. It brings all of a company’s knowledge together, understands it at a deep level, provides industry-leading search relevance over it, and connects it to generative AI agents and applications.

What this role involves:

  • Building delightful user interfaces with React.js in collaboration with product designers and backend engineers.
  • Overseeing features from inception to launch and beyond.
  • Writing robust, readable, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Pushing platform boundaries to integrate an instant Glean experience into every workflow.
  • Mentoring junior engineers or learning from experienced ones.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in computer science or related degree.
  • Experience with a highly polished consumer-grade React.js app, or 4+ years with any web app.
  • Thriving in a customer-focused, tight-knit, and cross-functional environment.
  • A proactive and positive attitude to lead, learn, troubleshoot, and take ownership.
  • Passion for using open web technologies (HTML5/CSS/JS) to build pixel-perfect, zero-latency, 60FPS user interfaces.
  • Comfortable in TypeScript, or JavaScript and type-curious.
  • Experience in or desire to master Progressive Web Apps (PWA), Web Extensions, Electron, Capacitor, React, Redux, Webpack.
