Software Engineer, Machine Learning (Infrastructure)

Job Description

Glean is seeking a Software Engineer, Machine Learning (Infrastructure) to contribute to the development of its search and assistant product. The engineer will work on a variety of systems, including generative AI, RAG, query understanding, and natural language question-answering. The ideal candidate will deeply understand customer pain points and use the appropriate tools to solve their problems.

The role involves:

• Designing, building, and improving ML systems and infrastructure
• Working with and enabling other ML engineers focused on modeling
• Writing robust code that’s easy to read, maintain, and test
• Mentoring more junior engineers, or learning from battle-tested ones

Requirements include:

• 5+ years of experience
• BA/BS in computer science, math, sciences, or a related degree
• Experience working with ML infrastructure and engineering for search, recommendation, natural language processing, or something similar
• Proven ability to design, build, and ship production-ready software, ideally around ML infrastructure (pipelines, serving, GenAI)
• Strong coding skills (Python, Go, Java, C++, ...)
• Thriving in a customer-focused, tight-knit and cross-functional environment
• A proactive and positive attitude to lead, learn, troubleshoot and take ownership of both small tasks and large features
