Job Description

Wellhub, formerly Gympass, is seeking a Backend Software Engineer Specialist to join its Billing team in Portugal. The company is a corporate wellness platform connecting employees to fitness, mindfulness, and more. This role involves working on a platform that supports the entire Wellhub business, handling millions of transactions globally.

The Backend Software Engineer Specialist will research and execute strategic projects, influencing B2B and B2C checkout conversion. They will collaborate with technical leadership to implement solutions with a cross-functional team. The role offers opportunities to develop leadership and engineering skills, focusing on scalability, system architecture, and code quality.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining services with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Building integrations with 3rd-party APIs and tools.
• Working in a collaborative and agile environment.

Requirements:

• Solid experience with RESTful APIs.
• Software Architecture knowledge.
• Software quality and test automation mindset.
• Cloud computing (AWS) and Cloud Native (K8s) experience.
• Experience with SQL technology (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with microservices and high-volume distributed systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a backend engineer.
• Advanced English skills.
