Lead Software Engineer - CODE | Booking

Job Description

Wellhub is seeking a talented Lead Software Engineer (Tech Lead) to join their Booking Team in Brazil. In this role, the candidate will oversee a team of software engineers, ensuring the pace and quality of their technical deliveries. The Tech Lead will serve as a technical reference, coding key features, reviewing pull requests, and actively participating in architectural decisions.

The candidate will collaborate with the Product Manager to evaluate task feasibility, assign user stories, and prioritize engineering issues. They will also ensure agile ceremonies run effectively and foster a culture of innovation within the team.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development of critical services, building long-term solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain services focusing on performance and scalability.
• Manage technical debts and engineering backlog.
• Support existing systems, enhancing functionality and increasing scale.
• Take part in incident resolution and troubleshooting in production.
• Maintain the project technical vision.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing and mentoring software engineering teams.
• Experience in architecting large-scale web applications.
• Experience in Cloud-based architectures (AWS / GCP).
• Proficient in one or more programming languages (Java/Ruby/Go/C++/etc.).
• Communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prior experience in AWS and Architecture are mandatory requirements.
