Precious / Base Metals Trader

Geneva Trading, a premier global principal trading firm, is seeking an experienced Precious/Base Metals Trader to join their team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have experience trading metals on LME, CME, and OTC markets, with a blend of strong technical capabilities and adaptability.This role involves:

• Developing, maintaining, and optimizing precious/base metals trading strategies.
• Managing intraday risk profiles and accumulated positions.
• Collaborating with overnight trading teams to refine trading models.
• Assessing trading system performance.
• Prioritizing trading objectives and documenting trading methodologies.
• Collaborating with the software development team to deploy analytical tools.

Requirements include:

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of successful experience in a trading role in precious/base metals markets.
• Experience in trading Gold, Silver, Palladium, Platinum, Copper, Aluminum, Zinc, Steel or Lead.
• Strong understanding of the fundamentals driving precious/base metals behavior.
• Proficiency in designing and executing trading and hedging strategies.
• Exceptional leadership, work ethic, organizational skills, and analytical rigor.
• Professional poise and excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
• A performance-driven mindset and resilience under pressure.
