Principal Software Development Engineer

Job Description

Zscaler, a leading cloud security company, is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to join their Cloud Browser Isolation team. This role involves designing and implementing tools for automation of deployment/upgrade of customer rollouts, focusing on minimizing maintenance requirements and error-prone tasks. The engineer will also implement tools and automation to increase developer productivity and advocate for DevOps within the engineering teams. They will work closely with QA and Engineering to design and implement infrastructure solutions aligned with business requirements, participate in all phases of product development, and contribute to post-mortem discussions and capacity planning.

Role involves:
• Designing and implementing automation tools for deployment and upgrades.
• Increasing developer productivity through automation.
• Collaborating with QA and Engineering on infrastructure solutions.
• Participating in product development phases.
• Contributing to post-mortem discussions and capacity planning.

Requirements:
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a tech lead/staff/principal role.
• Experience coding with Go (GoLang).
• Expertise with backend systems in large-scale service-oriented architectures.
• Intermediate to advanced level experience with a public cloud platform (AWS preferred).
• Intermediate to advanced level experience with Linux and CI & Build tools.
