Job Description
Zscaler is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join its Engineering Team. This role involves designing and optimizing AI/ML models and pipelines to enhance engineering workflows, testing automation, and cybersecurity intelligence. The candidate will lead the development of scalable AI/ML solutions, from ideation and training to deployment and monitoring, providing technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers. They will also architect AI platforms and infrastructures to support distributed training, real-time inference, and observability at scale, building AI/ML model orchestration pipelines using Kubernetes and MLOps frameworks. The role requires cross-functional collaboration to align AI initiatives with business objectives.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline (Master's/PhD preferred)
  • 10+ years industry/academic experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, or applied AI
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, ML libraries/frameworks, and container/orchestration technologies (like Docker and Kubernetes) for AI/ML development.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, or Azure ML)
  • Experience with translating complex technical concepts to stakeholders
