Senior Threat Researcher

Job Description

Zscaler is seeking a Senior Threat Researcher to join their Identity Risk Research team. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Product Management and will be responsible for researching and developing methodologies for identifying, assessing, and mitigating threats and risks across various data sources.

The role involves conducting in-depth entity-based risk analysis to understand and quantify risks associated with users, assets, and apps behaviors and activities. The Senior Threat Researcher will also provide actionable recommendations for responding and improving policies and controls, as well as researching and developing methodologies and heuristics for effective alert triage and prioritization across various types and vendors.

Role Involves:

• Researching and developing methodologies for identifying, assessing, and mitigating threats and risks across various data sources
• Conducting in-depth entity based risk analysis to understand and quantify risks associated with users, assets and apps behaviors and activities
• Providing actionable recommendations for responding and improving of policies and controls
• Researching and developing methodologies and heuristics for effective alert triage and prioritization across various types and vendors

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in security research, threat analysis, security analysis, vulnerability researcher or a related role
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, and incident response
• Experience with security tools and technologies, including SIEMs, XDR, SASE, CIEM and IAM
• Extensive experience in analyzing logs from various security products across multiple domains, identifying patterns and highlighting threats leveraging AI and machine learning
