Senior Technical Writer

Job Description

Zscaler is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join their Technical Publications team. The Senior Technical Writer will report to the Senior Manager, Technical Publications and will be responsible for translating complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. They will collaborate with subject matter experts from various teams and contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation standards.

Role Involves:

• Translating complex technical information into user-friendly documentation
• Creating post-sales content and enhancing documentation with visuals
• Collaborating with SMEs from Engineering, Field Support, Sales, Training, and Product Marketing
• Leading and mentoring fellow technical writers
• Supporting documentation project scheduling and management
• Contributing to the creation and maintenance of standards, style guides, and terminology best practices

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in technical writing
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field
• Experience in writing REST API documentation
• Knowledge of Open API Specification (Swagger) and JSON
• Proficiency in using tools like JIRA and/or Confluence
• Experience in Agile development environments
• Background in network and/or cloud security (preferred)
• Expertise with HTML5 and CSS with web-based or mobile products (preferred)
