Building Engineer - Multi Property

Job Description

Kasa is seeking a Building Engineer to support building systems maintenance and facility operations for 3 properties in Traverse City. The Building Engineer will identify equipment reliability opportunities and improve quality. The role requires both hands-on work and strategic thinking, reporting to the Operations Manager and working with the Portfolio team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical engineering support for building systems.
• Identify and recommend building systems-related projects.
• Lead and execute preventative maintenance and process improvements.
• Direct capital projects and reliability analysis.
• Assist with reviewing price quotes for parts and services.
• Understand elevator and fire/life safety systems maintenance.
• Maintain records related to property permits and environmental requirements.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in facilities support.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (MEP, HVAC, fire safety, etc.).
• Data-driven with analytical skills.
• High level of independence and decision-making ability.
• Clear documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Calm and positive demeanor in stressful situations.
• EPA Universal Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
