Software Engineer II

Job Description

GOAT Group is seeking a Backend Engineer to contribute to the design and implementation of new features across multiple backend applications. The engineer will play a key role in enhancing a Ruby on Rails backend and building a scalable service-driven architecture.

• Managing projects and problems of significantly larger scopes
• Formulating an efficient game plan for delivering a stable, well-tested feature on time
• Making technical recommendations that improve the codebase while minimizing risk
• Identifying and fixing bugs and performance bottlenecks
• Coordinating and communicating seamlessly across other technical and product teams
• Contributing to code reviews and other team processes

Requirements:

• BS degree preferred
• 2-5 years of experience in software engineering with Ruby on Rails (Python, Go, PHP, or Java is ok too)
• Experience with e-Commerce/Web Applications
• Familiarity with web service technologies and design patterns
• Ability to learn quickly and work autonomously
• Fluent in Mandarin and English
