Buyer - VMS

Job Description

iHerb is seeking a Buyer to evaluate, curate, and grow brands/products in their assigned category. The Buyer will cultivate strong vendor partnerships, source new suppliers, and manage assortment relevant to category, trend, and team objectives. This role involves making merchandising decisions for mid-volume accounts.Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Category Manager and team to ensure alignment on business strategies.
• Manage key category metrics (KPIs) for new and existing brands.
• Negotiate with vendors to secure pricing, marketing budgets, and growth incentives.
• Foster relationships with existing/new vendors to drive sales and product innovation.
• Drive the new product/brand onboarding and maintenance process.
• Partner with Inventory Management and Planning Team in managing inventory turns.
• Develop promotional co-op activities in conjunction with Marketing.
• Create, review, and utilize reports for in-depth analysis of category performance.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Strong negotiating skills.
• Strong analytical and data management abilities.
• Strong mathematical skills with an understanding of retail pricing concepts.
• Ability to communicate professionally.
• Great attention to detail and strong project management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Google Business Suite.
• Four (4) years of progressive experience in buying or a related role.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field preferred.
