Senior Buyer - VMS

Job Description

iHerb is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage brands and products within their assigned category. The Senior Buyer will cultivate strong vendor partnerships, source new suppliers, and manage assortment relevant to category, trend, and team objectives. This role involves making merchandising decisions for large volume accounts and may include mentoring Assistant Buyers.Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the Category Manager and team to ensure alignment on business strategies and growth objectives.
• Managing key category metrics (KPIs) for new and existing brands, new products, pricing, gross margin, and promotions.
• Negotiating with vendors to secure pricing, marketing budgets, and growth incentives.
• Fostering relationships with vendors to drive sales, product innovation, and promotional support.
• Driving the new product/brand onboarding and maintenance process.
• Partnering with Inventory Management and Planning Team to manage inventory turns and vendor forecasts.
• Developing promotional co-op activities with Marketing.
• Creating and utilizing reports for in-depth analysis of category performance.

Requirements:

• Strong negotiating skills.
• Strong analytical and data management abilities.
• Strong mathematical skills with an understanding of retail pricing concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Great attention to detail and strong project management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Business Suite preferred.
• Experience with WMS, EDI, SAP, Asana, and Tableau a plus.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in buying or a related role, preferably in an e-commerce environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field preferred.
