Job Description

Mr D, a division of the Takealot Group, is seeking a Mid-Level Operations Associate to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be a smart, creative, and hardworking individual with integrity, ready to contribute to a dynamic and rapidly growing company.

The Operations Associate will report to the Operations Manager for Grocery Operations and will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, analyzing data to improve customer experience, and assisting in the development of junior team members.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing day-to-day operations across various business verticals.
• Participate in the implementation and refinement of operational processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven insights.
• Analyze operational data to improve customer experience and workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Help manage and resolve payment transaction issues.
• Assist in the investigation of order discrepancies and compile reports.
• Support the mentorship and development of junior operations team members.
• Proactively manage operational emergencies and system failures.

Requirements:

• Strong analytical ability and Excel skills.
• Ability to identify areas of improvement.
• Enterprising spirit and ability to take ownership of tasks.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
• Ability to verbalize and visualize findings and results.
• Strong team player.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree in commerce, engineering, finance, or related field.
• At least 3 years’ of experience in operations, particularly in e-commerce, logistics, supply chain, or a related fast-paced industry.
• Experience in using data analytics to inform operational decisions and improvements.
• Proficiency in analyzing performance metrics to provide insights on operational aspects.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel.
• Knowledge of SQL or Python is advantageous.
