Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is seeking a Head of Supplier Business to join their team in Cape Town. This role is positioned within a young, dynamic, and rapidly growing company that values smart, creative, and hardworking individuals.

The Head of Supplier Business will report to the Head of Retail and Marketplace and will be responsible for building and leading a team of Supplier Business Managers to optimize income from Takealot's trading terms. The ideal candidate will establish strong relationships with key suppliers and cross-functional divisions, negotiate trading terms, and provide support and knowledge to retail divisions and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Build & lead a team of Supplier Business Managers
• Establish productive relationships with key suppliers
• Negotiate and recover maximum income from trading terms
• Provide support and knowledge for the retail divisions and suppliers
• Lead key supplier rebate and trading term negotiations
• Review vendor contracts and assess earning potential
• Ensure trading terms are category aligned
• Build a framework for maximum income
• Adhere to compliance & legislative requirements
• Manage, train and build a team of highly effective negotiators
• Deliver income recoveries that meet and exceed the business plan

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in retail/ wholesale environment
• 5+ years managerial experience
• Bachelor’s degree required (Supply chain / Finance or Business degree advantageous) or equal working experience
• Strong competency in analytical tools
• Smart, analytical thinker with strong numerical skills
