Branch Supervisor

Job Description

Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is seeking a Branch Supervisor for their Delivery Team in Port Elizabeth. The Branch Supervisor will report to the Hub Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the branch, focusing on timelines, efficiency, and effectiveness of drivers.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing drivers and systems to optimize delivery and reporting.
• Ensuring accurate and timely reporting related to vehicles, last mile, and driving staff.
• Updating the chain of command with relevant information regarding parcel loading and delivery.
• Ensuring adequate staffing and efficient task deployment.
• Upholding operational imperatives and escalating blockers.
• Managing returned goods collection and paperwork.
• Resolving driver and delivery queries.
• Verifying driver licenses and PDPs.
• Ensuring admin staff access to relevant data.
• Implementing delivery changes efficiently.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and security standards.
• Managing staff leave planning.
• Maintaining vehicles and equipment.
• Minimizing loss of company assets and stock.
• Submitting reports as requested.
• Supervising, coaching, and developing the team.
• Implementing discipline and performance management.
• Promoting company culture.

• Knowledge of routes and geography.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and admin skills.
• Clean driving and criminal record.
• Sober habits and availability for overtime.
• Matric Certificate and/or qualification in Supply Chain / Logistics and/or Fleet Management (or similar) will be advantageous
• 3-5 years’ experience in Fleet control
• Valid driver’s license and Public Drivers Permit (PDP).
