Job Description
xAI is seeking a Fiber Superintendent to oversee fiber optic cabling installation at their Memphis data center. This role involves on-site coordination and supervision to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The Fiber Superintendent will manage teams, enforce safety protocols, and maintain detailed records of job site activities. This position requires approximately 20% travel.
Responsibilities include:
  • Managing and scheduling employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring contractors comply with their contracted scope of work.
  • Maintaining daily written logs and plot plans of job site activities.
  • Leading, directing, training, and supervising foremen and crews.
  • Promoting and adhering to the company’s safety program.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams (preferably data center cabling technicians).
  • 3+ years of direct data center experience installing and routing optical fiber.
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Ability to schedule, manage and understand the critical path of a Data Center project.
  • Thorough understanding of a Data Center's typical Commissioning process and best practices.
  • Expert knowledge of and experience in the construction industry and company operations.
  • Ability to lead and manage others, including proactively coordinating multiple scopes.
  • Expert knowledge of and application of safety and environmental principles/ procedures/legislation.
  • Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities and professional judgment.
  • Ability to prioritize and use time management practices as well as prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Teams, Project, etc)
