Project Manager

Job Description

xAI is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish at their facility. This is an in-person role based in Memphis, Tennessee, requiring about 20% travel. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, high-growth, tech environment and collaborate with passionate and driven co-workers.Responsibilities include:

• Working with stakeholders to plan requirements and manage project schedules.
• Managing the delivery of network infrastructure projects from inception through delivery.
• Assisting upstream planning and acquisition teams in developing infrastructure requirements.
• Serving as primary contact for engineering teams and escalating engineering management chains when delivery timelines are at risk.
• Leading project status meetings and keeping downstream teams at xAI aware of project and delivery statuses.
• Overseeing all documentation, test results, and technical drawings.
• Ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of experience working in program management.
• 5+ years of experience working in program management.
• Experience with network planning and engineering.
• Experience in vendor management in the telecommunications/network industry.
• Knowledgeable of different fiber types.
• Experience installing, certifying, and troubleshooting fiber in hyperscale data center environments.
• Experience installing structured cabling.
• Highly proficient using a light meter, OTDR, OPMs, fiber certifier, loopback, and optical probes.
• Able to understand different types of switches and port identifications.
• Able to properly clean fiber and validate cleanliness.
• Ability to use judgment and analytical skills in complex installations.
• Ability to prioritize and use time management practices.
• Ability to adapt, make decisions, problem solve, and collaborate efficiently under pressure.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Teams, Project, etc).
