xAI is seeking an AI Engineer & Researcher to join their agent team, focusing on Reinforcement Learning and Agent development. The ideal candidate will contribute to creating AI systems that understand the universe and aid humanity. This role involves developing realistic agent environments, designing RL algorithms, and curating data to improve agent systems. The position is based in Palo Alto, CA, and requires candidates to be located nearby or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing realistic agent environments and evaluation methods.
• Designing RL algorithms for agent learning.
• Collecting and curating human and synthetic data.

Requirements:

• PhD in AI or related scientific domain (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of reinforcement learning techniques.
