Job Description
xAI is seeking an AI Engineer to focus on Voice AI solutions for enterprise customers. The ideal candidate will act as a specialized AI startup CTO, focusing on voice-driven technologies, leading high-stakes projects, and delivering measurable impact. This role requires a combination of deep technical expertise and customer-focused innovation in the Voice AI domain. The AI Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Designing and building end-to-end Voice AI solutions.
  • Benchmarking voice models and analyzing performance.
  • Improving model performance through prompt tuning and fine-tuning.
  • Analyzing voice request logs and audio inputs.
  • Building internal tools to automate voice AI workflows.
  • Enhancing xAI’s Voice AI SDKs and developer documentation.
  • Defining critical benchmarks for Voice AI performance.
  • Initiating human data collection for Voice AI.
  • Driving Voice AI integration with enterprise partners.
Requirements for this role include:
  • Strong engineering background.
  • Experience interfacing between technical and customer-facing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to translate business and voice-specific product needs into technical solutions.
  • Proven experience implementing voice AI or machine learning products.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Solid understanding of HTTP protocol and real-time communication protocols (e.g., WebRTC).
