Fullstack Engineer - Product

Job Description

xAI is seeking a Fullstack Engineer to join their team, focusing on building AI-powered products that impact millions of users. The Fullstack Engineer will work closely with product and research teams to transform AI concepts into reality. This role involves delivering polished, end-to-end features and scaling xAI's services.

The team is based in Palo Alto and San Francisco and is responsible for the backend services that power grok.com. They focus on writing highly scalable and reliable services that can efficiently process tens of thousands of queries per second. The entire backend stack is written in Rust.

Responsibilities:

• Own the delivery of polished, end-to-end features.
• Collaborate with product and research teams.
• Scale xAI's services.

Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of TypeScript.
• Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable architectures.
• Knowledge of computer science fundamentals and type systems.
• Experience in tuning production services for performance, reliability, and scalability.

Bonus points:

• Expert knowledge of Rust or Python.
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Familiarity functional programming principles.
• Experience building end-to-end applications, including frontend, backend, CI/CD pipelines, metrics, logging, and deployments.

xAI's team usually works from the office 5 days a week but allow work-from-home days when required. Candidates who join in San Francisco must make it to Palo Alto at least twice a week.
