Job Description
Graphcore is seeking a Characterisation and Bring-Up Engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge silicon devices and system platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate with Architecture, Silicon Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to execute the bring-up and characterisation of Graphcore's silicon devices and system platforms.Graphcore designs and develops leading-edge silicon processors and high-power, high-speed blade systems at the forefront of AI technology. The role involves developing a detailed understanding of Graphcore's silicon and platform products and creating and executing bring-up and characterisation plans to ensure correct operation across all conditions in the final product. The engineer will focus on automated and manual testing in the lab and data centre, integrating results with data from other teams to provide a complete characterisation solution.
Responsibilities: - Understand the architecture and design of silicon devices and systems.
- Assist in the creation of product-specific bring-up and characterisation plans.
- Execute bring-up and characterisation plans.
- Create and maintain an automated system for running characterisation testing.
- Perform data analysis.
- Execute manual characterisation tests where automation is not appropriate.
- Report regularly on progress and issues.
- Produce characterisation reports containing platform test results.
Requirements: - A proven track record of delivering technical output.
- Experience and understanding of silicon digital device design characterisation.
- Knowledge of silicon process technology.
- Knowledge of high-performance processor and system-on-chip systems.
- Experience of high-speed digital interfaces.
- Knowledge of measurement automation and data analysis.
- Proficiency in coding or scripting automation and data analysis using languages such as Python or JMP.
- Ability to work independently or with oversight as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
