Job Description
Graphcore is seeking a Technical Buyer to join their Supply Chain team. This role is crucial for supporting the artificial intelligence revolution by ensuring the availability of specialized AI compute. Initially, the Technical Buyer will focus on New Product Introduction (NPI) before transitioning to Manufacturing Procurement after a few months. The role involves working with a global supply base and collaborating with teams in Bristol and Taiwan.
Responsibilities:
- Contacting supply base for new product development and production.
- Negotiating and placing orders.
- Processing purchase orders and deliveries.
- Researching new suppliers to expand the supply base.
- Reducing costs and delivery lead times.
- Navigating multi-layer BOMs.
- Monitoring supplier performance and providing feedback.
- Monitoring and reporting actual vs planned cost (PPV).
- Participating with other operation stakeholders and updating the BoM cost accurately.
- Verifying NDA status and assisting in signing new NDAs with suppliers.
Requirements:
- Strong Electronic Component Knowledge.
- In-depth knowledge of Resistors, Capacitors, Diodes, Inductors, Clock devices, Power driver Components and controllers, and Integrated Circuits.
- Knowledge of Wafer Fabrication, IC Packaging, and IC testing is an advantage.
- Degree/HNC or equivalent in an Engineering/Technical Subject.
- Experience in applying budgeting and cost control techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of cost management techniques.
- Intermediate/advanced Excel skills and knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
