Job Description

Jobber is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their team. The Staff Software Engineer will act as a technical champion and force multiplier, leading and mentoring teams of engineers while collaborating with Product and Design partners to tackle complex technical challenges. This role involves architecture, design, and hands-on coding, with a portion of time allocated to "Staff Dev Projects" focused on cross-team initiatives and innovation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features.
  • Partnering with Product and Design teams to shape the product roadmap.
  • Leading large-scale initiatives that drive innovation.
  • Participating in code reviews and testing processes.
  • Championing consistent engineering practices and reusable code solutions.
  • Facilitating group discussions to solve complex customer problems.
  • Researching and implementing industry best practices.
  • Communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to team members.

Requirements include:

  • Expertise in developing scalable software solutions across multiple layers of the technology stack.
  • Hands-on experience using tools like ChatGPT, Cursor, and Copilot.
  • Proven leadership experience in guiding teams through complex projects.
  • Exceptional proficiency in software design, architecture, and coding.
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills.
  • Strong self-motivation and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize tasks effectively.
