Technical Program Manager

Job Description

Motive is seeking a Technical Program Manager to enhance engineering efficiency. The Technical Program Manager will play a crucial role in shaping Motive's engineering organization and the TPM team. This role involves driving quarterly and sprint planning, execution, and delivery. The Technical Program Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and design, to meet defined targets. They will also coach Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and engineers to foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

• Closely collaborate with the product team to define quarterly or bi annual planning, roadmap, objectives, scope and deliverables.
• Work with engineering teams on creating detailed project plans, including tasks, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate and align design, product and engineering teams involved in projects to facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and drive decisions.
• Make sure project execution is going according to the plan and track milestones
• Identifying risks and blockers then work to mitigate and unblock through all the tools in your toolkit
• Lead, own and improve sprint rituals, such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives and demos
• Drive the culture of continuous improvement by identifying any opportunities to improve current processes that can contribute towards teams’ productivity and efficiency.

• At least 7+ years of experience in Program Management.
• Prior technical experience or a technical degree is recommended (at least bachelor's degree in engineering)
• Experience with project management software (such as JIRA, Confluence, Coda, etc)
• Ability to lead and coach without authority.
• Strong experience with agile methodologies.
