Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description

Bottomline is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to build and operate critical internal and external services. The Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) at Bottomline use their skills as software engineers and their knowledge of infrastructure to further develop Bottomline's reliability practice in order to keep these services running smoothly. They strive to deliver a great customer experience through services that are observable, scalable, and highly available.This role involves learning complex systems and identifying failure modes to drive them out of the systems. This work is critical for the growth of both Bottomline and its customers.Role involves:

• Increasing the observability of applications, services, and infrastructure.
• Automating applications and infrastructure.
• Creating CI/CD pipelines for services.
• Working with Product teams to capture the user experience in SLOs.
• Reducing the impact of service disruptions.

Requirements:

• Experience with infrastructure as code practices.
• Consistently uses programming skills to automate tasks.
• Comfortable working in a CLI environment.
• Thinks of software and infrastructure coming together to form a larger system.
• Digs deep into incidents/problems and comes up with unique solutions.
• Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and spreading knowledge.
• Driven to fix what's broken and protect the customer experience.
• Compelled to leave a situation better than you found it.
