Jira/Atlassian System Engineer

Job Description

Alarm.com is seeking an Atlassian Applications Engineer (Systems Engineer) to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of its custom-built applications. The engineer will administer and enhance the Atlassian environment, develop and maintain custom scripts, and design and manage CI/CD pipelines. This role involves collaborating with development teams to provide technical support, solutions, and training. The ideal candidate will have expertise in scripting languages, database management, and both Linux and Windows environments.

• Ensuring smooth operation and continuous improvement of custom-built addons and plugins.
• Administering, enhancing, and optimizing Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo) and SQL databases.
• Developing and maintaining custom scripts using Adaptavist ScriptRunner and Groovy.
• Designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Providing technical support and solutions to development teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience with Atlassian products.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Groovy, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Experience working with Linux and Windows servers, as well as databases like MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
