Job Description

Alarm.com is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to contribute technical expertise to the design, construction, testing, and validation of product assembly and system testing. This includes stand-alone test stations and multi-station production lines. The successful candidate will be a key technical interface between product development engineering teams and manufacturing partners.

The role involves leading the design of assembly jigs, testing fixtures, and manufacturing processes. The Senior Production Engineer ensures that manufactured products meet design specifications and collaborates with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot design and build issues throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather assembly and testing requirements for new products.
  • Design assembly jigs, testing fixtures, and production setups.
  • Propose improvements for manufacturability, cost, testing, and automation.
  • Set up product assembly and testing environments.
  • Review production systems and documents.
  • Validate manufacturing environments and production setups.
  • Analyze design/production failures and improve manufacturing quality.
  • Perform manufacturing process simplification, optimization, and standardization.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
  • 10+ years of hands-on production engineering experience.
  • Proficient in designing test jigs and test fixtures for electronic devices.
  • Professional language proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Understanding of assembly and testing of consumer and commercial electronic products.
  • Experienced in constructing professional quality assembly SOP and system test SOP.
  • Expertise in designing assembly jigs and testing fixtures.
