Job Description

OpenEye is seeking a Sales Engineer to support their California region. The Sales Engineer will be a key member of the OpenEye sales organization and will serve as one of the customer’s primary technical contacts. This role involves understanding the technological aspects of products and explaining them to customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and delivering sales and project-specific presentations.
  • Assessing equipment and customer needs to determine system requirements.
  • Developing and presenting training courses for internal and external customers.
  • Providing customer feedback to product management, engineering, and development.
  • Preparing cost estimates and site configurations.
  • Analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment and software.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge.
  • Identifying short and long-term strategies to address market changes.
  • Investigating customer and product issues and recommending solutions.
  • Creating technical content for marketing campaigns and the website.
  • Supporting project installations remotely or on-site.
  • Providing post-visit summaries and entering information in CRM.
  • Communicating troubleshooting discoveries to the support department.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of engineering/Technical Support experience.
  • 3 years of Business to Business support experience.
  • Ability to travel 50-75%.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office core products.
  • Thorough understanding of networking.
  • Background knowledge in information technology, IP video compression, security surveillance, and access control.
