Director, Data Science

Job Description

Webflow is seeking a Director of Data Science to lead and expand its data science team. This role is pivotal in revolutionizing how businesses collaborate and innovate using Webflow's platform. The Director will manage and mentor a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers, focusing on experimentation, strategic analysis, statistical modeling, and forecasting. They will collaborate with senior leadership across various departments to ensure insights are actionable and integrated into strategic planning.Role involves:

• Leading and mentoring a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers.
• Developing and driving the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the team.
• Designing and deploying production-grade machine learning systems.
• Defining and evolving key product metrics.
• Leading exploratory analysis and segmentation initiatives.
• Driving the experimentation strategy.
• Collaborating with User Research to integrate qualitative and quantitative insights.
• Partnering with senior leaders to influence company strategy.
• Establishing scalable processes and best practices for scientific rigor.
• Evangelizing insights across the company.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in data science or related fields.
• 3-5 years in leadership roles, scaling teams and delivering measurable business impact.
• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Proficiency in statistics, causal inference, experimentation design, and applied machine learning.
• Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
• Experience in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly.
• Ability to collaborate with data analytics and user research peers.
• Curiosity and openness to growth in emerging technologies like AI.
