Junior Software Engineer (Corporate Operations) - Apprenticeship

Job Description

Decathlon Digital is seeking a Junior Software Engineer for an apprenticeship based in Lille, France. The role involves creating unique sports experiences for millions of users worldwide, from e-commerce to in-store interfaces, connected devices, and digital services. The engineering teams push the boundaries of innovation, designing intelligent, high-performance, and scalable tech solutions adaptable to over 60 countries.

The successful candidate will join the Digital for People team, contributing to the Decathlon University project, a strategic initiative focused on creating and evolving a learning and development platform. The mission takes place in a multicultural and multi-country environment, without requiring international travel.

Role Involves:

• Contributing to the design of modular, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
• Assisting the team in developing new features and continuously improving services.
• Participating in code reviews and adhering to development best practices (code review, pair programming).
• Collaborating with the Product Manager to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Helping to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Learning to design resilient, secure, and continuously deployed services.
• Participating in writing the technical roadmap and monitoring application performance.

Requirements:

• Interest in cloud technologies and knowledge of software development (architecture, design patterns, code).
• Curiosity, motivation, and a desire to learn alongside an expert team.
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate on stimulating technical projects.
• Basic knowledge of Java or object-oriented programming and a good understanding of software design.
• Interest in cloud environments and DevOps practices, or willingness to learn them.
• Desire to improve on development best practices and modern architectures.
