Job Description

Decathlon is seeking a Tech Lead to join the Customer Growth team and contribute to the design, development, and delivery of software for their transactional communication platform. This platform operates at a large scale, orchestrating communications for a global audience of hundreds of millions of users across multiple channels in over 75 countries.

The Tech Lead will report to the Engineering Manager and will be responsible for designing interfaces, reusable components, and helping engineers grow and thrive. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, Spring Reactive, and microservices architecture.

Role Involves:

  • Contributing to a healthy and collaborative engineering culture.
  • Applying software engineering principles to analyze and solve problems.
  • Developing and executing project plans.
  • Creating technical specifications.
  • Designing and developing test cases.
  • Adopting Agile methodologies for software development.
  • Analyzing existing systems to formulate recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensuring appropriate documentation.
  • Monitoring system performance and performing predictive maintenance.
  • Conducting risk and reliability analysis of systems.
  • Evaluating new technologies before adoption and implementation.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Java developer.
  • Strong skills in Spring Reactive (WebFlux).
  • In-depth knowledge of the Spring/SpringBoot framework, containers (Docker/Docker Compose), and the Kafka ecosystem.
  • Thorough understanding of software development best practices (microservices architecture, design patterns, testable code, BDD/TDD).
  • Experience mentoring junior developers.
  • Proven experience in Agile/DevOps development environments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes as a developer.
  • Experience building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, JSON, RPC.
  • Knowledge of SOLID principles.
  • Experience with asynchronous APIs.
