Data Engineer

Job Description

GWI is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering Department in Athens. The Data Engineer will play a key role in new initiatives around survey data, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to design and deliver tailored data solutions and build a modern data platform.

Role involves:

• Designing and implementing end-to-end data pipelines.
• Workflow orchestration, data modeling, transformation, and quality assurance.
• Collaborating with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and PMs.
• Contributing to GWI’s goal of embedding consumer insights.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Data/Analytics Engineer.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with cloud data stacks (e.g., BigQuery), workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow), data transformation tools (e.g., dbt), and data engineering engines (e.g., Apache Spark).
• Knowledge of software development best practices (Git, code reviews, testing, documentation).
• Understanding of CI/CD and infrastructure concepts.
• Knowledge of data governance practices.
• Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
