Job Description

LA28 is seeking a Manager for Energy Technical Design Services. This role is within the Games Planning & Delivery Group, specifically the Venue Infrastructure Team. The Manager will support the Energy Technical Design Services Team, which is responsible for designing temporary electrical overlays, educating external designers, estimating Games loads, validating high voltage projects, reviewing designs, performing electrical studies, overseeing temporary power providers, creating testing plans, and performing risk analysis.

The role involves:

  • Developing detailed electrical studies to determine load requirements.
  • Performing energy capacity analysis and identifying gaps in existing service supply.
  • Performing analysis to identify energy related risks to venue power supply.
  • Performing analysis to recommend solutions to meet requirements for loading, reliability and resiliency needs.
  • Tracking design revisions and evaluating their impact on Energy designs.
  • Supporting the integration of internal stakeholders with external delivery partners.
  • Helping execute an approval and review process for Energy technical requirements.
  • Ensuring a data-driven approach to Energy design and masterplan optimization.
  • Establishing close working relationships with key functional areas.
  • Working with the International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee to understand Energy requirements.
  • Aligning with the Energy Program Management Team for coordinated planning.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with electrical infrastructure and/or temporary electrical infrastructure design and delivery.
  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Direct experience managing electrical design development.
  • Experience working with electric utilities and/or temporary power providers.
  • Experience implementing sustainable energy solutions into electrical design.
  • Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making.
  • Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or 7 years of experience designing or implementing temporary power solutions.
  • Extremely detail oriented with excellent organization skills.
  • Fluent working with Office suite products including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and BIM360.
  • Strong communication, team building, and interpersonal skills.
