Job Description
Qumulo is seeking a strategic and customer-focused Professional Services Engineer (PSE) to deliver an amazing Day 1 experience for its customers. The PSE will coordinate and deliver customer on-boarding, installations, training, and other professional services. This role ensures that customers derive maximum value from their investments in Qumulo and are successful with their product.Responsibilities include owning the delivery of professional services, delivering deployments in cloud and on-premises environments, working with Customer Success Managers and Implementation Project Managers, coordinating customer on-boarding, and sharing guidance on data center best practices.
- Own the delivery of a broad range of professional services, including installations, training, and consulting to ensure customers get the most from their Qumulo deployment.
- Deliver deployments in both cloud and on-premises environments, leveraging infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation for cloud-based deployments to enable scalable, consistent customer outcomes.
- Work with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and Implementation Project Managers (IPMs) in the successful delivery of professional services.
- Work with customers to coordinate customer on-boarding, installation, and training.
- Share guidance with customers on data center best practices as they relate to Qumulo solutions.
- Contribute to the development of the Qumulo professional services practice by sharing and actively participating in retrospective reviews.
- Provide feedback to engineering and product teams on product gaps and areas of improvements.
Requirements include 2–4 years of professional services or IT delivery experience, experience with IT infrastructure, experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, familiarity with Python scripting, understanding of Linux package management systems, strong communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, detail orientation, ability to multitask and prioritize, experience in customer-facing roles, ability to solve problems independently, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, ability to lift fifty pounds regularly and repeatedly, and ability to travel up to 20%.
- 2–4 years of professional services or IT delivery experience
- 2–4 years of experience with IT infrastructure (storage, networking, servers, and cloud-based applications)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation (CFN)
- Familiarity with Python scripting for task automation or tooling
- Ability to troubleshoot core cloud components such as EBS, S3, managed disks, storage accounts, NAT gateways, elastic load balancers (ELBs)
- Understanding of Linux package management systems (RPM and DEB)
- Strong communication skills, including written and verbal
- Strong problem solving skills with a can-do attitude
- Interpersonal skills that allow for successful interaction with all stakeholders
- Detail oriented and able to multitask and prioritize
- Experience in customer-facing roles
- Ability to solve problems independently while in the field
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to lift fifty pounds regularly and repeatedly
- Ability to travel up to 20% for customer engagements, typically averaging 1 trip per month
